It Gets Better

My heart breaks as I look into the eyes
Of a person as utterly broken as you
Not knowing why the world casts you down
And makes you feel like shit too

They tell you that you're not worth
The ground that you walk on
They call you whatever they may
Always want to cast you down

It may seem like there's no way out
That things will never get better for you
But know that there are people out there
Who love you and support you, too

You don't have to feel like you're no one

Because you're special in the eyes
Of those who actually matter
Even though the masses will always try
To cast you down and keep you there

Just remember to rise back up
And soon the whole world will finally see
The truth of what I speak of
You're no less of a human being

Just because of who you love
You cannot help the way you are
So push back when they shove
Take the reigns of your own life back

Don't let them control you anymore
You're not less special than they are
So realize everything you were meant for
And always remember... you are not alone
